Canadian Playground Practitioners (CAPP) is a member-based online discussion group, comprised of experienced individuals, sharing the common goal of the promotion of appropriate playground environments.
These playground practitioners, by definition, have playground industry-related experience from a wide range of applications, including, but not limited to, the following: playground inspection, retrofit, design, supervision, management, and manufacture or sales of related amenities. Some of the more experienced members have multi-disciplinary backgrounds, giving them the ability to consider a number of different aspects that go into creating and maintaining a successful playspace.
In the summer of 1999, a small group of playground professionals saw a need to compile and share their resources and experiences. Originally starting as an Ontario-based organization, by March of 2001 the need to encompass all of Canada was realized with the official formation of CAPP as a registered “association”.
As our web-based discussion group evolved and strengthened over the years the need for a formal board of directors, and perhaps more importantly – membership fees was no longer considered as a necessary or relevant requirement. Today CAPP draws strength from a diverse and growing membership from coast to coast as a web based member-opinion discussion group only.
